MAILTOOL Updated to Allow Failed Message on Invalid Recipient

MAILTOOL has been updated to v10.85 and has the following new options that will allow you to tell MAILTOOL if you want to issue a warning (which is the default and still is) or fail the command should you encounter an invalid recipient address or an invalid or empty distribution list.

The update includes the following new command  parameter:
Bad Address Action (BADADDACT)

It also includes a new settable variable:
bad_address_action

The possible values for these are:

  • *DFT - Retrieve the default setting from the MLTBADAA data area
  • *WARN - Issue a warning when an invalid recipient is encountered
  • *FAIL - Fail the command when an invalid recipient is encountered

This does not mean that you can bypass having no recipients on the email, but that if any of the recipients are invalid you can choose what to do.  The command will still fail if you specify zero recipients.

Again, this additional feature was per a request by a customer.

If there are any questions, please feel free to contact us.
